Open Source License
Twigex Community Edition
Twigex Community Edition, the self-hosted software you download and run yourself, is free and open source, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3 (AGPLv3).
What that means in practice
You can view the source code, modify it, self-host it, and use it commercially, with no waiting period and no restriction on running it as a hosted service for others. There is one obligation: if you modify the software and offer that modified version to others over a network, you must make those modifications' source code available to them under the same license.
The authoritative text
The summary above is a plain-language explanation, not a substitute for the license itself. The full legal text of the AGPLv3 is published by the Free Software Foundation at gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.en.html, and that text, along with the LICENSE file in the Twigex GitHub repository, governs your use of the software. If anything on this page ever conflicts with either of those, the license text itself controls.
How this fits with the License Agreement
Twigex's Software and Services License Agreement formally incorporates the AGPL for the Community Edition and sets out the specifics of the free tier: no warranty or support obligation, and total liability capped at €100 for use without a paid Subscription. Paid Subscriptions add an alternative commercial license for Twigex-owned code, on top of the AGPL rather than replacing your existing AGPL rights. The License Agreement is the precise, binding document; this page is the friendlier summary of it.
